Overview

Visit the sacred Durga Kund Temple, one of the oldest and most revered temples in Varanasi, dedicated to Goddess Durga, the symbol of strength, protection, and divine power. Built in the 18th century, the temple is famous for its striking red-colored architecture and the sacred pond (Durga Kund) located beside it, which is believed to possess great religious significance.

According to local belief, the idol of Goddess Durga was self-manifested (Swayambhu) and was not installed by human hands. During Navratri, the temple comes alive with thousands of devotees who gather to seek the blessings of the Goddess. The peaceful surroundings, traditional rituals, and spiritual atmosphere make Durga Kund Temple a must-visit destination for pilgrims and tourists alike. Located close to Tulsi Manas Mandir and Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, it is an important part of the Varanasi temple circuit.
